Three ways to get involved
Coach
Training courses are offered regularly for future coaches, instructors and youth educators.
Referee
Since 2011, a refereeing commission has brought together the refereeing leads at national and regional level.
Lead
Steering Committee, commissions, club committees: the Federation needs volunteers to keep its projects going.
Coaches
Become a coach
Training courses are run regularly for future coaches and instructors or youth educators. The aim is to meet the needs of new club projects and the requests we receive to set up school programmes or youth development work.
Teaching materials, in French or English, are also available to help you set up training and taster programmes.
Would you like to coach a team or set up a men’s and ladies Gaelic football programme? Get in touch: we will let you know about the training opportunities available.

Become a referee
Since 2011, a refereeing commission has brought together the refereeing leads at national and regional level. It is a place to exchange views on the rules and on refereeing practice, and it gives clubs a way to make their needs known throughout the season.
Would you like to become a men’s and ladies Gaelic football or hurling referee? Get in touch: we will let you know about the training opportunities available.
Goal and sideline officials (“umpires”)
During a match, two sideline officials and four goal officials are needed to assist the referee on the pitch. In France, this role is the responsibility of the clubs, which provide bibs to identify the players who take it on. A rota of “umpires” is drawn up for each tournament.
