A new Steering Committee elected for 4 years

On 12 February, the Federation’s new Steering Committee was elected until 2028 at the Extraordinary General Meeting. It met for the first time on 11 March, and some of its members then celebrated the change on St Patrick’s Day at the Irish Embassy in Paris.

It is a small revolution: since the Federation was created (originally called the “Association Française des Sports Gaéliques” in 2004), the steering committee was elected for one year and renewed at each annual general meeting. The aim is clear: to comply with what the Ministry of Sports expects. Beyond this change in organisation, several structural reforms were also adopted at the start of 2025 so that our association meets the requirements set for approved federations.

We hope these efforts will pay off and that our sports will be recognised, after 25 years of development in France (and even 30 years: the oldest club, Paris Gaels, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year).
