The rules
How it differs from the men’s game
Ladies Gaelic football follows the principles of the men’s game, with a few adaptations:
- no “pick-up”: players may pick the ball up off the ground by hand;
- no contact is allowed;
- a pitch with its own dimensions in France and Europe, with 9-a-side matches.
Ladies Gaelic football clubs welcome women players: don’t hesitate to take the plunge!
