The Federation

Governance

The bodies that decide, oversee and drive the Federation, in the service of its clubs.

Statutory structure

How the Federation works

Three complementary bodies, all drawn from the member clubs.

The Steering Committee

Made up of 16 members, with equal numbers of women and men, it meets around four times a year by video call to review current business and set the Federation’s strategic direction.

The general assembly

Held every year, usually the day after the French Championship finals, it approves the accounts and motions, elects the bureau and appoints the officers responsible for youth, hurling, communications, competition organisation and more.

The executive bureau

The Federation’s executive body, made up of 3 to 9 members, it looks after day-to-day business, helps organise and oversee the competitions, and acts as the link with the European (GGE) and Irish (GAA) authorities.

A new chapter

Governance reform, 2025

On 12 February 2025, at an extraordinary general assembly, a new Steering Committee was elected to serve until 2028. It is a small revolution: since the Federation was founded in 2004, the Steering Committee had been made up of representatives of every club.

The aim is clear: to give the Federation a stronger structure and bring it into line with the expectations of the Ministry of Sport. Several structural reforms have therefore been adopted since 2024 to meet the requirements set for approved federations.
