Competitions in France
From regional league to French championship, and on to Europe: a structured season for every level, for women and men alike.
A team’s journey
A season in four stages
Each competition qualifies teams for the next: the French Championship crowns the best teams of the season.
1. Regional championships
Organised by each league, from September to December (October to March in Brittany), for shorter journeys and great fixtures.
2. Federal championship
All teams outside Brittany: February to May for men, November to March for women.
3. French Championships
The finals: three tournaments from April to June for women; one day in June for men, in three divisions.
4. European competitions
15-a-side European Championships, 11-a-side Pan Euros, Super 15 and Final 4: French clubs take on the best in Europe.
